A stylish matte cello glaze on both sides enhances the vibrancy of each original illustration, while a specialty UV spot gloss varnish brings the intricately designed medieval, custom (back of card ) pattern to life, depicting characters from the court cards.

Accompanying the cards is a 28-page spiritually informative guide booklet, helping you navigate the world of tarot with insightful interpretations. Each tarot set comes with a hand-signed certificate of authenticity from Lydia herself, ensuring each Tarot deck’s uniqueness and connection to the artist's original vision.

The first release, limited edition tarot prints of the 22 Major Arcana artworks are available in A5 and A4 sizes in the shop. We can also customise larger size prints for any of the tarot card images. *Please note that the artwork colours seen digitally on screen are in RGB which will be modified when printed in CMYK on Canson.

The creative process behind the scenes

The creative journey began with the idea of developing a new tarot brand as a unique project. The initial phase involved brainstorming potential brand names and sketching various logo design concepts. These sketches were then refined into digital logo layouts.

The next step focused on creating a prototype for the packaging, designed to fit the card dimensions. This process included several stages of prototyping using different materials, starting with cardboard templates, followed by handmade wooden boxes, and eventually advancing to laser-cut wooden boxes with a variety of lid options.

Researching and designing the cards

The design process began with three months of in-depth research into the meanings of both the major and minor tarot cards, alongside a deep dive into medieval art, fashion, and culture. This extensive research allowed for the creation of authentic and thoughtful references for each unique card. The next step involved crafting production traces, which were essential for producing the final cards.

Creating the 78 original painted illustrations took nearly two years to complete. In the final phase of the project, we focused on designing a custom card back pattern, developing and typesetting the accompanying booklet, finalising the packaging for the first edition of wooden boxes, photographing the illustrations for digital layouts, and meticulously typesetting the card fronts.
